BNP announces a $55 million global donation to help fight the COVID-19 virus. A significant portion of this donation, allocated by BNP Paribas USA and its affiliate Bank of the West, will go to hospitals in the United States. The bank is making large monetary donations to five U.S. hospitals including Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles, NYC Health + Hospitals, UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, and Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. These hospitals are using the donation to procure essential medical supplies, fund COVID-19 testing and fund other COVID-19 programs to battle the virus. In addition to these monetary-based contributions, BNP and Bank of the West are also donating a collective 600,000 masks in the United States, matching 1:1 employee donations to various charities, and supporting its charitable partners who are providing relief to under-resourced individuals and small businesses in New York and New Jersey.
